Dramatic JJ Blouse

I used the very popular JJ pattern from Burdastyle for the first time, and now see why it is. It is a great basic shirt pattern.

I wasn't very interested in a ruffle blouse until I saw a pic from an old Anthropologie catalog and then I was inspired!

I changed the ruffles by making circular ruffles and then gathering them, also omitted the sleeves and instead used a bias binding.

Because these were very large circular ruffles, it would have been hard to baby hem them, so instead I did a very delicate zigzag stitch and trimmed the edges.

I am not too sure this is my style, but I think it'll be a fun piece to add a little flair every once and a while.

I really want to wear this like the model with a high waist before deciding if the ruffles are too much for my liking. Unfortunately I didn't bring any high waisted bottoms with me, so I'll have to wait until I make something new!
